Conor Molloy – Authentic Energy – Event Chairman

cmolloyConor Molloy is an independent energy advisor, accepted as a member of the Association of Energy Engineers, CILT, FTAI, IMCA and EVO

With an MSc in Energy Management and Renewable energy from University of Ulster, he is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Measurement & Verification professional (CMVP) and trainer for ISO50001. 

In recent times, he has trained ESOS Lead Assessors in Transport Energy Auditing at the request of the UK Government’s Environment Agency, led the publication of EN 16247-4 Europe’s transport energy audit standard and contributed to ISO50004.

Since 2005, Conor’s day job has been helping business’ save fuel and manage their energy usage for profit and reduced emissions.


Sean Keevey – Director of IT – Department of Agriculture, Food & The Marine

Responsible for the delivery of all Information and Communications Technology to support the Department’s operations in the areas of Food Safety/Animal Welfare, Agricultural Schemes, Environmental protection, Trade Negotiations/Policy, Fisheries, Forestry.


Ronan Nicholson –Networks & Infrastructure Manager – Irish Credit Bureau DAC

Ronan has an MBA, Diploma in IT & BSc and 20 years’ experience in building technology solutions ensuring ICB delivers a secure, reliable and redundant service to ICB’s customers.

Ronan plays a key role in the provision of services to ICB’s customers and in 2007 Ronan was involved in designing & building ICB’s Managed Secure VPN Service enabling 380 plus banking and financial customers’ access ICB’s services.

Prior to the introduction of the ISO27001:2005 standard Ronan designed, and created the internal governance frameworks in ICB, based on the BS7799 & ISO/IEC 17799 standards, to achieve ISO27001 Certification. In 2012 ICB were successfully awarded the ISO27001:2005 standard and have successfully retained this standard each year resulting in ICB being upgraded to the ISO27001:2013 standard in July 2015.

Martin Cullen – IT Audit Manager – ICON plc

Martin Cullen is senior IT Audit Manager with ICON plc, a Global Clinical Research Organisation headquartered in Dublin.  Martin holds a Diploma in Advanced Computer Programming and a BSc Information & Systems from Trinity College Dublin.  Martin is a gold member of ISACA and holds ISACA CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, COBIT 5 Foundation, Implementer and Assessor and ISO27001:2013 LA.  Martin has over 10 years of experience as an IT Audit Manager and has previously worked in a number of technical roles including software developer, project management, database administrator and business intelligence across a number of industries including government bodies, human resources, electricity supply, software development, telecommunications, transport and life sciences.  Martin has previously presented on Cyber Security at the ISACA EuroCacs conference and on an ISACA international global webinar on Cyber Security in 2016, and been an invited SME participant for ISACA’s “IT Audit Directors Forum” and the “Future Direction of IS Audit”.  He is also a member of the  International ISACA “EURO CACS IT Audit Leaders Taskforce.”

Garry is also the Founding Partner of GconnTec, where he provides various companies seeking to get established and expand their footprint within the EMEA region with recruitment, voice/data infrastructure sourcing, IT, hosting and other core business support.  Prior to GconnTec, Garry served as Co-founder of 4front International Group, a company that supports customers looking to relocate, expand or invest in Ireland.  He also co-founded Engage Technologies, Ltd., where, after a successful acquisition of Bellscan in 2000, he successfully redesigned and re-mastered the company’s portfolio of products for the Web and in 2004, changed the platform from a closed operating environment to an open standards-based platform.

In 1994, Garry co-founded BridgeCom, the leading voice and data systems integration company in Ireland, prior to its acquisition by Esat Telecom (BT Ireland) in 1998.  His professional tenure also includes various management, sales and sales engineering positions in the telecommunications industry, including British Telecom Professional Services, ICL Fujitsu and BA Systems.


LeasePlan – Frieda Ryan – Security Services Manager

Frieda acquired extensive experience in the financial services industry before moving into the world of an ICT shared service provider, providing IT and security services to operating units of the world’s largest fleet management company.

She has undertaken roles encompassing information security, internal audit, compliance, operational risk, operational management, BCM, credit and debit card environments, payment processing, fraud and forensic investigations.  Her experience is supplemented by her involvement with change management projects, process improvement and business transformation.

She currently holds the position of Information Security Manager in LeasePlan Information Services Ltd.


Seán O’Donnell – Senior Associate – ByrneWallace

Seán O’Donnell is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Crime, Regulatory and Enforcement Team of leading law firm ByrneWallace, Ireland’s first and only large Irish law firm certified with ISO 27001 information security standard.

With a background in Criminal law, Seán has significant experience in acting for and dealing with regulatory bodies in particular in the area of regulatory prosecutions and enforcement.  He has defended cases brought by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Health and Safety Authority and other regulatory bodies.  He has represented and advised persons of interest in investigations carried out by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement.  Seán also advises clients who are in correspondence with various regulatory bodies investigating complaints or investigating alleged offences.   

Seán has experience in drafting Regulations for state bodies and advising on the powers and functions of such bodies.  Seán has completed the Certificate in Data Protection Law and Practice in the Law Society of Ireland and advises clients in relation to data breaches and engagement with the Data Protection Commissioner.


Conor FitzgeraldInformation Security Lead Assessor – Certification Europe

Conor works as an ISO 27001 lead assessor for Certification Europe. His client base is diverse across both geography and industry sector.

He is a graduate in ICT from Trinity College Dublin. As well as holding ISO 27001 lead auditor qualifications, he’s a certified data protection practitioner.

Conor sits on NSAI/TC 2/SC 10 on IT Security Techniques helping standards development for the ISO 27k suite of standards.


Richard Harpur – Group IT Risk Manager – Fexco

Richard is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), manages IT Risk for a financial services multi-national, a Pluralsight author and has worked at various senior technology leadership roles from software engineer to CIO over the years.

Richard was responsible for leading the first Irish SME to achieve ISO22301, the Business Continuity Management Certification, in 2012. He has also succeeded in attaining ISO27001,Information Security Management System certification, re-certification and transition certification for several organisations and industries.  

Through his work as an author with www.Pluralsight.com, a leader in online training for technology professionals, Richard has written the ISO27001 Information Security: The Big Picture training course which has been delivered worldwide to organisations embarking on ISO27001 certification.

Hilary is a Data Protection expert and a qualified solicitor in Ireland, England and Wales.

Hilary has almost 2 decades’ experience working across various industry sectors in Ireland, including telecoms and banking, and over the past 8 years has worked as Group Data Protection Officer for a large Irish utility semi-state company before moving to a similar role in the Irish head office of an international grocery retailer.

As a non-practising solicitor, Hilary now offers practical Data Protection compliance support through Barbican Data Protection Services.

I am Head of Information security Services at Certification Europe specialising in Information Security, Cyber Security and related schemes and services. I have been with Certification Europe since 2009 and have other roles such as Lead Assessor for ISO 27001, ISO 20000 and ISO 22301. I am also a Lead Trainer for our ISO 27001 Implementation and the ISO 27001 Lead Auditor courses.
